My husband and I met one of the most genuine humans on this planet, Frances, in Bali in 2019 when we booked a stay in her villa. Through our conversations, we were completely fascinated with the inspiring details of her life that ultimately lead her to settle in Bali. Now her incredible story is available to the world! Frances' Bali story is one that completely enthralled me from the first time I had the pleasure of meeting her on the island, and being able to read it now, from the very beginning, was so incredibly COOL! If you're into food, adventure, travel, culture, and love - this book is for you. It provides such a unique perspective into the ways of life in not only Bali, but in countries across the world. As its title says, this is a love story, but it is also so much more. It's a story of following your heart, embracing change, and forging your own path. I cannot wait for memoir two!! This was not your average cooking class. Frances and Adi welcomed us like long-lost relatives as they shared their food, their recipes, their home, their garden, and their incredible story of how they met, fell in love, and their lives changed forever. It truly was one of the most inspiring and powerful stories I've ever heard and we were certainly not the firsts to beg them to write a book about it to share their story with more people. That's why my whole family was so thrilled when the book was released and it certainly did not disappoint. I highly recommend this book- you won't be able to put it down! I could tell you that Chronicles of a Balinese Priestess is like a cross between Eat, Pray, Love and Crazy Rich Asians — and it definitely has elements of both — but really, it’s deeper than that. This is a book for anyone who is “supposed to be” a certain way, professionally, socially, romantically, whatever, and wonders if they’d be happier doing something wildly different.
